Drunk Gunman Arrested After Social Lounge Shooting
A night out at Social Lounge turned dangerous on Friday. Just after eight p.m., gunshots rang out in front of the popular spot on the Phillip Goldson Highway. Police say the shooter was no stranger to trouble and this time, he was drunk and armed. Officers quickly moved in, searched a vehicle, and found Woodrow Reyes with a firearm. He’s now facing charges for possession of a gun while under the influence. Investigators also recovered spent shells, which are headed to the forensic lab to confirm if Reyes pulled the trigger. Assistant Superintendent Stacy Smith tells us more about the arrest and the ongoing investigation.

ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer
“Police officers attached to the precinct four police station proceeded to the Social Lounge, which is located on the Phillip Gold Highway. As a consequence of being alerted that shots were fired at that location, the officers conducted a search on a vehicle where they found a male person who was in possession of a firearm. The male person, namely Woodrow Reyes, was subsequently detained and formerly arrested in charge for possession of a firearm whilst under the influence of alcohol. The scene of the shooting was established and the expended shells were recovered. Those shells will be submitted to the National Forensic and Science Services laboratory to determine whether the firearm that was retrieved from Reyes was the one that fired those shots.”
