BREAKING: Former UDP Senator Charged with Sexual Assault

Police have formally arrested and charged former UDP Senator Macario Coy with the offense of Sexual Assault. Authorities confirmed that the investigation began on Friday, November 7, 2025, after a 36-year-old Belizean teacher reported that she had been sexually assaulted by Coy on Tuesday, November 4.

On Friday, November 21, Coy voluntarily surrendered at the Punta Gorda Police Formation, accompanied by his attorney. He was subsequently charged with Sexual Assault.

Coy later appeared in court, where he was granted bail set at 3,000 dollars. His next court date is scheduled for January 20, 2026.
