Gunmen Target Delivery Truck; Driver in Critical Condition

Police are investigating a violent robbery involving a Country Foods delivery truck that left the driver critically injured. According to police, the incident occurred on Friday, November 21, at approximately 8:20 PM near mile 32 of the Hummingbird Highway in St. Margaret’s Village.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers learnt that three employees were travelling in the delivery truck when they encountered a speed bump under construction. As the driver slowed down to navigate the obstruction, a single gunshot rang out. Two masked men, armed with firearms, then emerged from a vehicle parked on the side of the road.

The assailants demanded money from the occupants and searched the truck for valuables. When none of the employees had the key to the vehicle’s safe, two of them managed to escape into nearby bushes. The third employee, the driver, was shot multiple times. He remains in critical but stable condition.

Scenes of crime personnel were called to the scene, and police have reviewed available surveillance footage to identify the suspects and their vehicle. While initial reviews have not yielded results, authorities are expanding their investigation and hope to gather information that will help solve the case.
