Principal Coy Accused of Sexually Assaulting Teacher

Police in Punta Gorda have arrested and charged thirty-nine-year-old Macario Coy, principal of a Punta Gorda school and former UDP senator, for the offence of sexual assault.

According to ASP Stacy Smith, the arrest follows an investigation that began on November seventh, 2025. She explained that a female reported that “whilst Mr. Coy was at her residence, he touched her inappropriately.”

Police say the thirty-six-year-old teacher reported the incident shortly after it occurred, alleging that Coy assaulted her on November fourth.

On November twenty-first, Coy turned himself in to Punta Gorda Police, accompanied by his attorney. He was formally arrested, charged, and taken to court, where his bail was set at three thousand dollars.

Coy is scheduled to return to court on January twentieth, 2026.
