Belize City Woman Stabbed in Domestic Dispute

Police in Belize City are investigating a violent domestic incident that left a woman with multiple stab wounds early Monday morning.

According to ASP Stacy Smith, at approximately 5 o’clock police were alerted via the control room “of an ongoing domestic dispute at a residence on Gibnut Street, Belize City.”

Officers responded immediately. Upon arrival, they were informed by a male occupant “that his common law wife was in the room.” Police were then led to that room, where they found a woman suffering from serious knife injuries.

ASP Smith said, “They observed a female with several apparent stab wounds to her body and in a semiconscious state. She was immediately transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where she remains now in a stable condition.”

Police have detained a male individual in connection with the incident.
