Belize’s bodybuilding spotlight shines on two men, the back-to-back Mr. Belize winner Randy Hyde and Mr. Physique Kareem Middleton, who flexed past fierce competition to claim the nation’s top titles in men’s fitness. It was a night of high intensity and precision posing, after months of discipline, on full display as athletes battled for the coveted crown. And when the final call was made, the crowd erupted for the winners who brought the perfect balance of muscle, symmetry and stage presence. We caught up with Mr. Belize and Mr. Physique to hear what it took to rise to the top at this year’s Belize Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships.

“It took a lot, it took a lot of sacrifices, diet, going to bed early. I go to bed at seven-thirty every night because we get up three-thirty to train to get at the gym at four-thirty. So it’s strict exercises, strict form as I said, the diet, right? A lot of sacrifices. Another factor in it is you have to have very good coaching. People that are knowledgeable of bodybuilding itself and people that are knowledgeable about exercising and diet. And I was fortunate to have a person that entered into bodybuilding and did it for fifteen years.”

“This year was a lot of sweat determination and lot of hard work because currently right now I won three competition back to back. I started at Spartan Classic, first place men’s physique. Then I went to a Sugar City classic men’s physique again, first place. And I’m truly grateful for this achievement, man. Trying my best, trying to put Esperanza, especially San Ignacio on the map because I’m a trainer at Cayo Extreme Fitness Club. And I also wanna try bring, bring it out just show everyone, anybody can do it. Just do your best try and you never know what can happen.”
