Belize Partners with World Bank to Boost Cybersecurity Readiness
The Ministry of E-Governance, in partnership with the World Bank Group, has launched a national cybersecurity assessment consultation right here in Belize City. The meeting brought together key players from government, private sector, and critical infrastructure to figure out just how ready we are to face growing online threats. Leading the charge was a team of cybersecurity experts from the World Bank, headed by Doctor Giacomo Assenza. CEO of the ministry, Jose Urbina, called this a milestone in Belize’s digital transformation. He envisions a Belize where digital services are trusted, businesses thrive free from cyber threats, and innovation flourishes under guaranteed security. Over the next five years, this initiative will shape policies and strengthen our defenses. After the assessment, a full report with recommendations will be shared publicly.
