Applications Open for Young Women in Leadership Belize 2026

Young women across Belize now have a chance to step into the spotlight. Applications are officially open for the 2026 edition of Young Women in Leadership (YWiL), a programme designed to build confidence, sharpen leadership skills, and connect future female leaders from every corner of the country.

Belize will be the sixth Caribbean nation to host the initiative, which runs from February to mid-March 2026 through a mix of virtual sessions and in-person activities. Participants will take part in leadership training, learn how parliament works, explore gender equality issues, meet regional experts, and even join a special YWiL session inside Belize’s National Assembly.

The programme is open to Belizean women ages 18 to 30 who are passionate about public leadership and community development. Organisers say they want a diverse group representing all districts, and no previous formal experience is required.

There is no cost to apply or participate. Selected applicants will receive support if they have trouble accessing reliable internet, as well as a travel stipend for any in-person events. Additional accessibility needs can be shared directly through the application form.
