Data Shows Road Fatalities Down in 2025
As the country debates the rollout of new motorcycle regulations, fresh data from the Crime Fusion Centre is showing a very different reality from the public’s perception. Despite the loud concerns surrounding motorcycle safety, fatal accidents involving motorbikes have actually fallen sharply compared to last year. The figures reveal that 2025 has seen a significant drop in deadly collisions across nearly every category of motorcycle involvement, challenging the narrative that the roads are becoming more dangerous for riders.

“For the year 2024, we had one hundred and seven fatal traffic accidents across the country. So far for 2025, we’ve had fifty-six fatal traffic accidents. Of these fatal traffic accidents that occurred in 2024, twenty-six of those were a vehicle versus motorcycle, twenty-two were motorcycles alone, five were motorcycles and motorcycles colliding with each other and one was motorcycle with bus or with vehicle – with a boss rather, sorry. That was a bus indeed. For 2025, we had thirteen accidents, vehicle versus motorcycles, fifteen motorcycles alone, four motorcycles and motorcycle and two bus and motorcycle. So for 2024, we had a total of fifty-four accidents involving motorcycles. So far for 2025, we have thirty-six.”
