OWT Council: Don’t Use Santa Mailbox for Trash
The Orange Walk Town Council is appealing to residents to respect the festive decorations at Central Park after reports surfaced that the Santa mailbox, intended for children’s letters to Santa, has been misused as a garbage bin.
The bright red and yellow mailbox, a centerpiece of the park’s Christmas display, was recently found filled with trash instead of holiday wishes.
“We would like to ask the public to refrain from disposing their garbage in this mailbox at the Central Park,” the Council stated. “This mailbox is part of the Christmas decorations at the Central Park. Children are welcome to drop their letters to Santa here.”
