Belize Bank Brings Holiday Cheer to Stella Maris Students

For the 13th year in a row, Belize Bank has brought the holiday spirit to the students and staff of Stella Maris School with its annual Christmas party.

The event has become a cherished tradition, giving children gifts from Santa and a full turkey dinner with all the trimmings. For some students, it is the only Christmas party they attend and the only gift they receive during the season.

“It’s important to us because some of these kids, this is the only Christmas party they will be attending, the only gift they will be getting from Santa,” said Denise Godfrey, Belize Bank’s Marketing and Branding Manager. She has been part of the event for ten years and says the relationships built over time make it even more special. “They know me by name, and I know some of them by name. It’s very heartwarming to see how much they’ve grown and that they still recognise us.”

This year, children enjoyed a bouncy house, popcorn, snow cones, basketball games, and a 360-degree camera to capture their dance moves. Musical chairs added to the fun before lunch was served at 11:30, with the company’s CEO joining the students for the meal.

“I could see the excitement and the joy on all of my students’ faces,” said Principal Doreth Pascasio Griffith.

This year, 135 children and 25 staff members enjoyed the party, continuing a broader tradition of giving.
