National Assembly Adopts New Logo
The National Assembly of Belize has moved to adopt a new logo to represent its authority and identity.
For decades, the Assembly relied on the national Coat of Arms, a symbol of Belize’s history and governance. The Coat of Arms, with its shield of logging tools, a woodcutter and a sailor, and the motto “Sub Umbra Floreo” (Under the Shade I Flourish), appeared on official documents, the National Flag, and even the ceremonial Mace carried by the Speaker.
That logo has now been replaced. The new design features the National Assembly building itself, marking a shift toward a symbol that directly represents the institution.
Guidelines have been issued to ensure the logo is used consistently and professionally, covering details such as fonts, colours, and branding standards.
The Prime Minister and Cabinet have expressed full support for the new logo’s formal adoption, and the Clerk of the Assembly will be responsible for managing, protecting, and authorising its use.
