Woman Detained After Two Brothers Stabbed in Toledo

Police in the Toledo District are probing a violent incident that left two brothers with stab wounds during the early hours of Sunday.

Authorities said they were notified around 3:00 a.m. that two injured men had been taken to the Punta Gorda Hospital. One of the victims, Steven Pop, was found unconscious and receiving treatment for several cut wounds to the neck.

The second victim, Roberto Pop, 30, of Crique Jute Village, was also hospitalised with injuries to his face. Police said he suffered stab wounds to his cheek, a cut beneath his eye, and a laceration to his nose.

Police reported that Roberto Pop told investigators the incident followed an argument with their sister after the group had been socialising in San Antonio Village. He alleged that when he and his brother attempted to leave, their sister refused and later used a broken bottle to attack them.

Police have since detained the brothers’ 27-year-old sister.
