Police Department’s First-ever Festive Gesture: Ham or Turkey for All
For the first time ever, the Belize Police Department is spreading some extra holiday cheer. Every single police officer and civilian staff member will be getting a ham or turkey this Christmas to make their holiday meals complete. This historic gesture comes thanks to the support of Home Affairs Minister Oscar Mira and Commissioner of Police Dr. Richard Rosado. The department says it’s their way of showing appreciation for the hard work and sacrifice of the men and women who keep us safe all year long. Senior Superintendent Reymundo Reyes, Eastern Division Commander, has more on this festive initiative.

“The other initiative that was put in place was that each police officer, not only of eastern division but country either gives a ham or a Turkey. This is something that has never been seen before. We had events where some police officers get, not everybody, but this time every single police officer and civilian staff attached to the police department.”
