Escaped Suspect in San Ignacio Robbery Recaptured

Police have recaptured Israel Bradley N. Usher, 29, who escaped custody while facing robbery charges involving two American women.

Usher was arrested during a joint police operation on Tuesday, December 23, around 7:00 p.m. in the Bainsville area of Hattiville Village.

The search began on Monday, December 22, after Usher fled following his detention. He also is wanted for a robbery on Friday, December 19, when two American women walking along Burns Avenue in San Ignacio were threatened with a knife.

Surveillance footage showed a struggle between the suspect and one of the American women over her purse.

According to police, the stolen purse contained a phone, $200 in cash, and personal cards. Police traced the phone and detained a man matching the description.

The 29-year-old is now back in police custody awaiting charges for the robbery and for escaping from lawful custody.
