CARICOM Private Sector Reaffirms CSME Commitment
The Caribbean private sector is doubling down on its commitment to regional integration. In a statement released on December twenty-third, the CARICOM Private Sector Organization and its partners reaffirmed their support for the CARICOM Single Market and Economy, better known as the CSME. They say the system has delivered real benefits over the years, from boosting intra-regional trade to strengthening supply chains and creating jobs. The statement calls the vision of CARICOM leaders, dating back to the Grand Anse Declaration in 1989, still relevant today, especially in a world facing economic uncertainty. The point couldn’t be clearer: stronger together. Private sector groups across the region are pledging to work hand-in-hand with governments to fully implement the CSME and build resilience. As the holiday season approaches, they’re also extending goodwill to all CARICOM citizens.
