Family of Fatal Chopping Victim, Linden Kelly, Speaks Out
Tonight, the family of forty-one-year-old Linden Kelly is speaking out for the first time since his tragic death on Tuesday morning. Kelly passed away from injuries he suffered during a brutal machete attack last Friday. Police say he was confronted by two men in the Rivas Estate area of Dangriga Town. In an emotional interview with News Five, Kelly’s brother, Austin Williams, described the family’s grief as overwhelming, saying the loss has shaken loved ones and left Kelly’s business ventures in limbo. While many questions remain about what led to the attack, Williams says the family is avoiding speculation and placing their trust in the ongoing police investigation.

“It’s a devastating time for us. We’re going through a lot. This will be a December, a Christmas to remember. And it’s hard. It’s very hard, especially on me, my mom on everyone in our family, even friends, people from abroad. Everyone is shocked. I’ve been getting calls from all over, I must say, and everyone is in a state of shock. So it’s very hard, and this will live on with us for the rest of our lives and for the entire time of us breathing. He was full of energy. He loved to work, that’s for sure. He’s very creative in, in doing what he do. He’s very creative in coming up with ideas, different business ideas. As a brother, he’s very loving, he’s very protective of us. He doesn’t want us to be in trouble or get hurt. And he’s a very loving father as well, and I’m sure his children would, they’ll miss him.”

“According to some reports he had gone to a residence and that’s when he was attacked. And others say that he was approached. Do you guys know what exactly happened to him for him to receive these injuries?”

“We, to be honest with you, we are not too sure. That’s why we’re leaving it up to the police, and we hope the police do their jobs and we get the right justice or the proper investigation. And we hope they come true with the proper details because when it comes to we hear on different media houses, they’re saying he went for his girlfriend. And I almost clear that, like I always said, like I’ve said before that young lady is not his girlfriend. We leave everything to God because who is a man to take life, or who am I to take life? We leave everything to God and we’re just hoping and praying for justice from the police.”
