Man Charged After Tossing Gun on Pelican Street

Police have arrested and charged Linsford Lord after an unlicensed firearm was discovered during a joint law enforcement operation on Saturday. Investigators say Lord was spotted tossing the weapon as officers moved in to search a vehicle on Pelican Street. The charges include keeping a firearm and ammunition without a license, and possession of a gun with its serial number removed. So why is only one person facing charges? ASP Stacy Smith explains how the incident unfolded and what led to this decision.

“These charges stem from a joint operation, which was conducted by GI3 and Special Branch personnel on twenty-eighth December, 2025. At approximately 6:45 PM the team of officers were on an operation in Pelican Street when their attention was drawn to a group of male persons who were next to a Nissan Rogue vehicle. When the officers stopped and identified themself with a view to conducting a search, Lord, who was in the driver’s seat, exited the vehicle and began to walk away. The officers observed that he went under his shirt and retrieved what appeared to be a firearm, which he then threw, which landed in a property on top of a dog house. Mr. Lord was escorted to the area where the firearm landed and that firearm was observed to be a nine millimeter pistol and a magazine containing nine – eight live rounds of nine millimeter ammunition was also retrieved.”

“Anybody else will be arrested for this incident?”

ASP Stacy Smith

“Given that Mr. Lord was seen in possession with the firearm. The evidence points solely to him.”
