FSC Orders Travis Smith to Cease Activities

The Financial Services Commission of Belize is warning the public against doing business with an individual named Travis Smith.

In a warning notice dated December 30th, 2025, the Commission said Smith is not licensed under the Financial Services Commission Act nor registered under the Securities Industry Act to provide financial or securities services in Belize.

The FSC stated that “the entity or individual listed below is not licensed under the FSC Act to provide, carry on, transact, or hold itself out as providing” financial services. It also confirmed that Smith is not registered under the Securities Industry Act.

The regulator cautioned that “any business dealings with this entity or individual are undertaken at their own risk.”

The notice further directs the promoter to “cease and desist from engaging in the said unlicensed activities,” which the Commission said constitute an offence under the laws of Belize.

The FSC said the warning is intended to protect the public and the financial services sector from potential harm.

“All persons concerned are warned to take note and exercise extreme caution,” the Commission said.

Smith addressed the warning in a personal online statement, calling it “not serious.”

“All they’re saying is I can’t operate as a business n charge pple to buy crypto for them…did I know that no,” he said. “I can still invest in crypto. Talk about it. But I simply cannot charge pple to buy crypto for them.”
