KHMH Nears CEO Appointment After Months of Vacancy
After months without a full-time Chief Executive Officer, the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital is moving closer to appointing new leadership. The institution has been without a CEO since October fifteenth, when former CEO Chandra Cansino’s contract expired. According to Minister of Health and Wellness Kevin Bernard, the decision now rests squarely with the hospital’s Board of Governors. In an official statement to News Five, the minister confirmed that the board is preparing to interview five candidates who applied for the post, with the aim of finalizing a decision by the end of this month. In the meantime, the ministry says an interim management team remains in place to ensure the continued and efficient operation of the country’s main referral hospital. While the process is still ongoing, sources at KHMH indicate that former Acting CEO Timothy Seguro is a strong contender for the position, but Financial Controller Sharine Reyes has emerged as the favorite of multiple board members. However, officials stress that the process is ongoing and no final decision has been taken as yet. The appointment of a new CEO is being closely watched, as the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital continues to navigate ongoing challenges related to staffing, financing and patient care.
