BPBL Welcomes New Leadership
The Belize Premier Basketball League (BPBL) has appointed Glenn Gill as its new Deputy Commissioner.
Gill, one of Belize’s longest‑serving referees and a former commissioner of the Belize Elite Basketball League, is respected both locally and internationally as a FIBA‑certified referee.
He joins Deputy Commissioner Amir Garcia, working under Commissioner Claudio Leal, who is entering his second year at the helm of the BPBL.
In his new role, Gill will oversee league operations and regional readiness, supporting teams, officials, and game‑day infrastructure. The BPBL says the expanded leadership reflects its commitment to “operational excellence, competitive integrity, and long-term growth.”
The league also extended congratulations to the National Elite Basketball League (NEBL) on its February relaunch, noting that both competitions strengthen Belize’New s basketball ecosystem.
The BPBL is scheduled to return in July 2026.
