Bella Vista Man Charged With Christmas Day Murder
Dixon Noel Caceres, a Belizean labourer from Bella Vista Village, has been formally charged with the murder of Archibald ‘Fafa’ Ferrill Jr.
Twenty-five-year-old Ferrill was gunned down on Christmas morning in what police believe was a targeted attack. He was walking along an unnamed street between 4 and 5 o’clock when he was fatally shot by an unknown assailant. Investigators say Ferrill suffered up to ten gunshot wounds.
His death added to a troubling pattern of violence in Bella Vista Village. In August 2025, a man was stabbed over a dispute involving stolen tools. A month later, a gunman opened fire inside a family home, and in November, a barber was shot and killed in his shop.
In response to the spike in violence, the Police Department increased operational and intelligence personnel in the area.
Speaking with News Five, Minister of Economic Development and Toledo East Area Representative Dr. Osmond Martinez attributed the rise in crime to negative influences from Central American countries, noting that many residents are descendants of migrants from the region.
