Suspect Charged in Christmas Day Murder of Bella Vista Man
Police in the Toledo District have formally charged a suspect in the Christmas Day killing of twenty-five-year-old Archibald “Fafa” Ferrill Jr. of Bella Vista Village. Ferrill, a construction worker, was fatally shot early on December twenty-fifth, 2025, while walking along an unnamed street in the village. Authorities discovered him face-down in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds; eleven cartridge casings were recovered at the scene. Investigators described the attack as likely an ambush, noting that it was part of a broader surge in violent crime in the area linked to illegal drug activity. On Tuesday, police arrested and charged twenty-three-year-old Dixon Noel Caceres, a Belizean laborer from Bella Vista Village, for the murder of Ferrill Jr. The arrest comes amid escalating violence in the Intermediate Southern Formation area, where four homicides have occurred in Bella Vista over the past six months. Authorities have attributed much of this increase to drug-related disputes. Ferrill Jr.’s tragic death and Caceres’s subsequent arrest highlight ongoing security challenges within the community. Authorities continue investigations into motives and possible connections to broader criminal networks.
