Police Speak on Shooting Outside Belize City Nightclub
Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred around 3 a.m. outside the Midnight Lounge and Night Club in Belize City.
Authorities confirmed that no one was injured in the incident. Senior Superintendent Reymundo Reyes said to reporters, “Police intercepted a vehicle with two occupants. A search was conducted on the vehicle, which led to the discovery of a .38 revolver and saw ammunition on board.”
He confirmed that charges will be filed against the suspects for possession of a firearm and ammunition without a licence.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that 28-year-old Guadelupe Pedro Escalante, who was driving, and Kenyon Maskall, his passenger, were allegedly involved in a heated verbal altercation inside the nightclub earlier that night. It is believed that the tension followed them outside, where the situation escalated into gunfire.
