No Arrests Yet in Murder of Security Guard

Police continue their investigation into the fatal shooting of 35-year-old security guard Darwin Valerio, who was killed while on duty at the Belize Water Services warehouse in Lord’s Bank Village.

Head of the National Crime Investigation Branch, Hilberto Romero, said, “ Work was done on that murder. Again, we have some video footage. Those are being reviewed, but at this time, no one has been arrested and charged.”

When asked if police are looking into any possible involvement from Valerio’s colleague that night, Romero stated that investigators have not identified “any evidence on him. So the investigation continues,” he said.

Valerio was ambushed early on Friday morning. He was shot multiple times.
