Investigation Stalled in Fatal Lord’s Bank Shooting

Police are still trying to piece together what happened the night thirty‑five‑year‑old security guard Darwin Valerio was gunned down while on duty at the Belize Water Services warehouse in Lord’s Bank. It’s been several days since the deadly shooting, and so far, investigators have not made an arrest. This morning, reporters pressed police for answers on the stalled investigation. But according to Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero, the probe hasn’t yet pointed them to a suspect. He says the team is continuing to follow leads as they work to bring Valerio’s killer to justice.

“Follow up work was done on that murder again, we have some video footage. Those are being reviewed. At this time no one has been arrested and charged.”

“We are doing an investigation. At this time we don’t have any evidence on him, so the investigation continues.”
