Suspected Drug Habit Fuels Burglary Spree, Arrest
Police say a suspected drug habit may have pushed a Chan Chen resident into a crime spree that’s now landed him behind bars. Twenty‑six‑year‑old Dennis Eck is facing two burglary charges and a drug possession charge, after investigators link him to a break‑in where seven hundred and fifty dollars was stolen from a Corozal home, and a far more frightening incident where a young girl came face‑to‑face with an intruder inside her bedroom. Police say Eck was later tracked down, detained, and found with a small amount of crack cocaine. Here’s more from Assistant Superintendent Stacy Smith.
