Police Arrest Suspect in Murder of Elroy Bainton

Tonight, police say they’ve made a major breakthrough in the January twenty-fifth murder of Ladyville resident Elroy Edward Bainton. Just two weeks after the deadly shooting, investigators have formally arrested and charged twenty-one‑year‑old Caryl Paul Rodas, a construction worker from Burrell Boom, for murder. Bainton was one of two men gunned down in Ladyville that Sunday evening, killings that investigators strongly believed were connected and likely fueled by an internal drug‑related dispute, according to police statements. Authorities said Bainton was targeted outside the Jew Apartment Complex on Yellow Tail Street, shot multiple times, and later pronounced dead at the hospital. Police confirmed today that their investigation led them to Rodas, who is now facing a murder charge as the case moves forward.
