SCA Cheer Squad: Sisterhood in Action

Behind Saint Catherine Academy’s ferocious volleyball team is a cheer squad that keeps energy going, players locked in, and the crowd roaring during games. Twenty-five girls, from freshmen to seniors, form the sisterhood that fuels SCA’s thirty-year winning streak.

Former cheerleader and current moderator Tamera Locke says a lot goes into delivering on the audience’s expectations. “We prepare them for games, pep rallies, and everything in between. It’s a year-round commitment,” she said.

At the forefront is the squad’s captain, 17-year-old Kalise Kisling, ensuring the support is always there for the team.

“They’re there for every single day game,” said volleyball captain Sara Safa. “They’re by our side, despite whether we lose the point or we win the point.”
