Yemeri Grove Celebrates Reliable New Water Supply
In the Toledo District, two communities just took a big step toward cleaner, more reliable water. This week, residents of Yemeri Grove celebrated the launch of their brand‑new water system, a major upgrade delivered through the Ministry of Rural Transformation and UNICEF. After years of sharing a supply with neighboring Laguna, the village now has full water independence, thanks to a new production well, elevated reservoir, and submersible pump built to serve more than a hundred households. Officials say the investment strengthens public health, improves daily life, and gives the local water board a sustainable system ready to grow with the community.

“We had Laguna and Emory Grove connected and of course there was the need to expand the system and ensure that Emery Grove had a very reliable system twenty-four hours a day. And I will say to you. This is the third system – the third tower that we have constructed as a ministry. The first one was done in tower hill orange walk. And the second one we sid was in medina Bank. And third one is here in Emery Grove. We feel proud of this great accomplishment and work of which we can serve our students, our young children and our fellow Belizeans.”
