HRCU Opens Its Doors in Belmopan Branch
The long trip to Belize City is over for thousands of Holy Redeemer Credit Union members in western Belize.
HRCU has opened its first branch in Belmopan. For years, members from Cayo travelled miles to access services in Belize City. Now, those services sit in the heart of the capital.
This HRCU has been installed inside the new Fred Smith Building in tribute to the late former president who championed the move to the capital.
Acting manager Clement Usher remembered Smith as a constant presence. “When he was a president, he was always present at the office to make sure that everything ran smoothly, and he was always the type of person that cared, wanting to make sure everything was going to the best of our ability.”
The branch already serves 2,800 Belmopan members. President Wendy Castillo said the goal is steady growth of “ten percent every year.”
