Man Shot in His Own Home in Belize City

A calm Tuesday night in Belize City was shattered when gunfire suddenly ripped through the Bingo King area of Faber’s Road, sending neighbors scrambling for safety and leaving one man hurt. Police say twenty-three‑year‑old construction worker Kaylen Thompson was inside his apartment with his common‑law wife when someone walked up and fired several shots straight through the door. Thompson was hit and rushed to the KHMH, where he’s now in stable condition. Investigators were on the scene soon after, but tonight, residents are still shaken, there have been no arrests, and investigators are still trying to piece together why someone targeted that home.
