Water Supply Interruption Sends All Belmopan Students Home Early

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology has ordered the suspension of classes in Belmopan beginning at noon today, following an unexpected interruption in the city’s water supply.

The announcement, issued just before midday, described the move as an emergency measure. Schools were instructed to dismiss students early to minimise disruption caused by the lack of running water.

The suspension applies to all educational institutions, from preschools to tertiary campuses.

Authorities have not yet indicated how long the water outage will last.
