Punta Gorda Businessman Charged with Child Rape and Sexual Assault

Police have formally arrested and charged 49-year-old businessman Owen William Cadle with two counts of rape of a child and two counts of sexual assault.

The case began on Monday, March 3, when a woman accompanied her 12-year-old daughter to the police station. The girl reported that during the first week of October 2024, while visiting a business establishment in southern Belize, the male owner allegedly grabbed and touched her inappropriately, later giving her $20 BZD.

The minor further reported that in mid-October 2024 and again in November 2025, the same man allegedly forced her to perform oral sex, providing her $20 BZD on both occasions.

Following the report, police launched an investigation and on Thursday, March 5, formally arrested Cadle.
