“So today is the second day of the National Primary School Football Championships. It is the culmination of tournaments played across the country. We have six districts but in total it’s eleven municipalities across the country where we play football in their specific areas. And today what we see is the champions from these districts. So it’s literally the best of the best in the primary school level.”

“What have you been seeing so far?”
Kaya Cattouse
“Definitely a whole heap of talent in both the boys and the girls. It’s very refreshing to see kids at this age playing at such a high level.”

“What’s your take on all the parents out here?”
Kaya Cattouse
“It’s definitely great to see the support that these kids have. And parents love the developmental rules because there is no parent that comes to a game and watch their child sit on the bench. Every child gets playing time and it’s not garbage minutes. It’s proper playing time. So for example, in football we play four periods of ten minutes each, and there’s fourteen kids on a team. So there’s two goalkeepers and you have seven kids playing the first and the third period and the other seven playing the second and the fourth period. So every kid get proper playing time out here.”
