Casting Call Opened for Grace and Glorie Play

Organizers have opened a casting call for Grace and Glorie, a moving two‑woman play set to premiere in Belize this October for Cancer Awareness Month. Tom Ziegler’s drama follows Grace, an elderly woman dying of cancer, and Glorie, a young hospice volunteer, as they clash over life and death before eventually finding friendship and understanding. Auditions will take place virtually on March seventeenth, and organizers are seeking two female actors, one aged thirty‑five to forty‑five to play Glorie, and one over seventy to portray Grace. Executive Producer Curtis Gillett shares more about the upcoming production.

“It is a beautiful play and everyone can relate to it one way or another. The casting call is I’m looking for two females someone between the age range of thirty-five and forty-five and someone older than seventy to play the role of Grace. The auditions will be March seventeenth. We will be doing it by Zoom or Google Classroom. And that’s because the director of the play, Fannie Green, she is a professor at the US University. So she can’t be here in person to conduct the auditions, and that’s why we’re doing it using the platform of Zoom or Google for those who are interested in auditioning. Please be prepared to give us one hour of your time, one hour of your time. Reach me at 637-6872. And what I will do is to provide you with the lines we want you to familiarize yourselves with, as well as the lines we want you to learn for the audition. So in addition to those, we want you to come prepared to also sing the chorus of a song. Don’t worry if you are not a singer, that’s quite fine. And come prepared to tell us in about a minute and a half, a little about yourself and wear clothing that you can do some exercising because even though we are going to be on a media platform. We will be doing some warmup body and voice exercises before we go into the actual audition process.”
