Police Charge Luewin Link For Murder of Clinton Pou

Police have made a major breakthrough in the murder investigation of Clinton Pou, the Belize City resident who was gunned down on Thursday in what investigators now believe was a retaliatory attack. Today, authorities confirmed that twenty-one-year-old Luewin Link has been formally charged with Pou’s murder, along with several additional offenses stemming from the shooting. Investigators say Link was allegedly acting alongside Ryan Barnett, the suspect who was fatally shot by police during a pursuit shortly after the incident. Police now believe the killing may be connected to the earlier murder of Edward “Scrubby” Saldano, suggesting the violence may have been part of an ongoing feud. Police say their investigation is still active as they continue reviewing evidence and statements in the case. Assistant Superintendent Stacy Smith explains where the investigation stands tonight.
