Man Shot Dead in Orange Walk

Police are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a man in Orange Walk Town on Wednesday evening.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero, officers responded to reports of gunfire around 7:15 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of a male with apparent gunshot injuries.

The victim was identified as Albert Pot. He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Preliminary information indicates that Pot was in the area with another male individual when a gunman reportedly jumped over a fence and opened fire, hitting him multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Romero confirmed that Pot was known to police and had previously been questioned in connection with recent shooting investigations over the past few months.
