Woman Robbed of Nearly $5,000 in Jewelry in Stann Creek

Police are searching for two men in connection with a robbery reported in southern Belize.

Twenty-four-year-old Alaih Hilda Augustine, a waitress of Hopkins Village, told police that shortly before 1:00 a.m. on Monday, she was socializing with a friend along the roadside near the Savannah area when they were approached by two men.

According to Augustine, one of the men pointed a firearm at her and demanded her gold chains. The second suspect then snatched one chain valued at $1,200, along with a gold medal inscribed with the name “ALIYAH” valued at $275. During a struggle, she handed over a second chain valued at $3,500.

The total value of the stolen items is reported at $4,975. Police investigations are ongoing.
