Trump Says Iran Is “Begging” for a Deal, but Are They Really?

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, saying Tehran must move quickly toward a deal or face continued military pressure.

In a post to Truth Social early Thursday morning, Trump described Iranian negotiators as “strange” and claimed they were “begging” for a deal after being “militarily obliterated”. He added, “They better get serious soon, before it is too late, because once that happens, there is no turning back, and it won’t be pretty.”

During a White House cabinet meeting later that morning, Trump repeated his demand that Iran negotiate an end to the war while vowing the U.S. would keep “blowing them away” if talks fail.

His remarks come amid questions about the status of indirect talks between the two countries. While Trump insists Iran is seeking a deal, Iranian officials have publicly denied negotiating with the U.S.

On Wednesday, Iran dismissed a US peace plan that called for its regime to abandon nuclear programmes and limit ballistic missiles. U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff confirmed that Washington had presented a 15-point plan but did not disclose details.

Trump did not address Iran’s rejection of the proposal or his decision to deploy ground troops to the Middle East. Instead, he argued the ball was in Iran’s court. “If they don’t, we’re their worst nightmare. We’ll just keep blowing them away. Unimpeded, unstopped,” he said.
