Midnight Knife-Point Robbery Leads to Drug Bust
A midnight knife-point robbery on Antelope Street Extension has led to the swift arrest of a suspect and uncovered suspected crack cocaine.
According to police, a 22-year-old woman reported that she was targetted by a man armed with a knife while walking along Antelope Street just after midnight on Sunday. She reported that the man demanded her phone, cash and jewellery, then kicked her before fleeing the area.
Assistant Superintendent Stacy Smith said officers launched an investigation with the help of surveillance footage, which led them to a property on Antelope Street Extension within hours.
“Also emanating from that search was the discovery of 8.9 grams of suspected crack cocaine,” ASP Smith added.
35-year-old Sherman Rodney was arrested and is expected to be charged with robbery.
He was also charged with possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply along with 26-year-old Jenay Stewart and 24-year-old Vincent Tillett.
