Trump Tell UK To ‘Go Get Your Own Oil’ A Fuel Prices Surge
US President Donald Trump has lashed out at the United Kingdom and other European allies, telling them to “go get your own oil” from the Strait of Hormuz as the US/Israel war with Iran continues to disrupt global energy supplies.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said countries relying on Middle Eastern fuel would have to “start learning how to fight for yourself,” adding that the United States would no longer step in to help as it had in the past.
The comments come as the average US gas price has climbed to $4 per gallon, the highest level since 2022, amid severe disruptions to tanker traffic through the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. The waterway is one of the world’s most critical oil chokepoints, and the ongoing conflict has significantly slowed commercial shipping.
Despite concerns over maritime security, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said more vessels are now traveling through the strait. At the same time, he stressed that the US military intends “to be unpredictable” in the conflict, fueling speculation about possible American boots on the ground.
Meanwhile, violence in the region continues to intensify. A Kuwaiti oil tanker carrying millions of barrels of crude was struck near Dubai, with officials blaming Iran for the attack. All 24 crew members were reported safe and the fire brought under control.
In Iran, fresh airstrikes have hit several cities, and a desalination plant on Qeshm Island has reportedly been taken out of service. In five weeks of war, thousands of people have been killed, the vast majority in Iran and Lebanon.
As tensions rise, China and Pakistan have jointly called for an immediate ceasefire and renewed peace talks.
