Ashton Gillett Busted with Gun at Boom Horse Race
Security at a weekend sporting event in the Belize District took a serious turn after police discovered a loaded firearm during routine checks. Officers assigned to the Burrel Boom Horse Race were conducting searches at the entrance when one individual raised suspicion. A search of his bag led to the discovery of a nine-millimeter pistol with live ammunition. That individual, twenty-nine-year-old Ashton Gillett of Cotton Tree Village, was detained and later charged with illegal firearm and ammunition possession. Here is ASP Stacy Smith with more.
