Two Men Charged in 2025 Murder of Arnaldo Vellos

Police have arrested and charged two Corozal men in connection with the October 31, 2025 murder of Arnaldo Andres Vellos.

Twenty-year-old Brandon Alexander Sanker and 23-year-old Kevon Wayne Armstrong were formally arraigned on Tuesday on a joint charge of murder. Sanker was additionally charged with attempted murder.

Vellos was shot in the Finca Solana area of Corozal Town. Police responded to reports of gunfire and found Vellos suffering from gunshot injuries near his home. He was transported to hospital, where he later died.

At the time, ACP Hilberto Romero, head of the National Crime Investigation Branch, said investigators were following information that the killing was drug-related. Police described the shooting as a targeted attack and indicated that the suspects were known to authorities.

Sanker was also charged earlier this week in an unrelated case involving the alleged illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, alongside two minors.
