Two Teen Lives Lost, Jaheil and Alwin, Investigation Continues
The Port Loyola community is still reeling as police press on with the investigation into the killings of two teenagers. Nineteen year old Jaheil Westby and seventeen year old Alwin Marin lost their lives in an incident that has left residents searching for answers. Investigators say they’re combing through surveillance footage and collecting statements to piece together what happened. While some of the video reviewed so far hasn’t provided clear answers, police insist the case remains very much active as they work to bring clarity, and accountability, to a shaken neighborhood.

“Certainly that investigation from the initial incident as it relates to the discovery of Mr. Westby, the officers have bene investigating the matter. A number of video footages were reviewed from those that were available. However, they did not provide anything substantial. I spoke to the supervisor of the investigative officer and she advised me that they are in the process of retrieving another number of video footage and those will be reviewed to see how they assist with the investigation. I do know that a number of statements have been recorded, because the suggestion is there was a longstanding dispute in the area with the deceased persons and other youths that reside in that area. But the investigation is ongoing and as more efforts or results are made, the media will be advised.”
Police are now zeroing in on a longstanding feud between the deceased and other youths in the Port Loyola neighborhood. We will continue to follow the investigation.
