Young Man Charged with Attempted Murder

Police have charged an 18-year-old Belize City resident in connection with a shooting that left a 26-year-old man injured last month.

James Saldano was charged with Attempted Murder, Use of Deadly Means of Harm, and Grievous Harm.

The charges stem from an incident reported on Thursday, March 5. Shortly after 11:30 p.m., police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where they observed Tyrel Andrewin, 26, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Andrewin told investigators he had been inside a parked Hyundai sedan on Plues Street when a caravan vehicle pulled up alongside him. He reported that a passenger in the vehicle produced a firearm and fired multiple shots in his direction, causing his injuries.
