About one thousand six hundred ships are still stranded in the Strait of Hormuz while fuel prices are climbing by the day, yet the two-month US-Iran conflict appears to have no deadline yet.

United States President Donald Trump said today that the US has had “very good talks” with Iran over the past 24 hours. He said, “We’re in good shape… They want to make a deal. It’s very possible that we’ll make a deal.”

However, there’s no deadline for when Trump expects to hear back from Tehran.

According to CNN, Trump also claimed Iran has already agreed to his central demand. “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon, and they won’t, and they’ve agreed to that,” he said, though there is no independent confirmation of what Tehran has or has not accepted.

Meanwhile, 1,600 ships remain bottled up in the Strait of Hormuz. Thirty-two vessels have been struck by missiles since the war began on 28th February. CNN reported that there have been ten fatalities and at least a dozen injured.

A regional source told CNN both sides are edging closer to a one-page framework to end the war.
