Woman Dragged Back to Court to Face Cyberbullying Charge
A legal battle many thought was over is back in the spotlight tonight. A Belize City woman, once cleared of cyberbullying allegations brought by former Police Commissioner Chester Williams, is now being pulled back before the court. Nichole McDonald had the charge dismissed late last year, but the case didn’t end there. Williams signaled he wasn’t ready to let it go and pushed to have the matter revived. Now, months later, McDonald is again facing the same accusation. Assistant Superintendent Stacy Smith weighed in on the latest twist in this ongoing dispute.

“I do not have the specifics however what I can speak to, in general, whenever charges are withdrawn dismissed and they did not go to the trial length, there exists a possibility for it to be reinstated. I believe in the matter concerning Ms. McDonald, it is the virtual complainant, former Commissioner of Police Williams, it is alleged he did not appear in court on the day of the hearing and the decision was dismissed. He is an aggrieved person, and he would have made a report with the hope that the matter was ventilated and have justice take its course. Reinstated charges that did not go it full length is not something new or unlawful.”
McDonald had initially pleaded not guilty to the charge.
