High-Speed Motorcycle Crash Shuts Down Traffic in Teakettle
Traffic was backed up in Teakettle Village during lunch time today after a motorcycle driver lost control of his bike near a curve between miles fifty-two and fifty-three on the George Price Highway. Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero was one of the first on the scene. He quickly used his police issued vehicle to block incoming traffic. Other police officers who were travelling through the village stopped to provide first aid treatment and guide the injured rider to the side of the road. Witnesses say the motorcyclist hit the curve at an extremely high speed and was not wearing a helmet. He suffered a catastrophic injury to the right leg and minor injuries to the head. After a little over thirty minutes waiting, ambulance arrived and rushed him to the Western Regional Hospital.
