FFB Coach Critically Injured After Bus Crashes Into Cane Truck

The Football Federation of Belize(FFB)  has confirmed that several youth footballers and technical staff were injured in a serious traffic accident late Tuesday night while returning home from a training session in northern Belize.

According to the federation, the accident happened along the San Victor Road after an FFB bus transporting players and staff from the Northern Zone High Performance Program collided with a parked cane truck.

Several players and staff sustained minor injuries and received medical attention. However, the federation says Villamil, the NSC Corozal coordinator and high-performance coach, suffered the most severe injuries. Seated in the front section of the coaster, she became trapped in the wreckage following the impact.

Police officers, emergency responders, and nearby residents worked to free her from the vehicle. She was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City, where she remains in critical but stable condition.
